Pancake Tree Farm has been owned by the Berg family since 1993, Richard and Judy with children Richie and Amy. The 132-acre farm is home to Pancake Maples which is a new venture into the maple syrup business. Besides having many species of mature hardwoods and pines, Pancake Tree Farm is transforming into a food forest. A paw paw orchard as well as chestnut, hazelnut, northern pecan, and persimmon trees and ramps are starting to grow. Their fresh baked maple granola and bars have been a hit with schools and even won a food contest. The five year plan is to become one of the largest ramp farms in the country. They love the rolling gentle slopes and grow well under the leaves left by our canopy of maple trees. Time will tell!
Pancake Maples is a certified member of Certified Naturally Grown (CNG), a non-profit organization offering certification tailored for small-scale, direct-market farmers and beekeepers using natural methods. Pancake Maple farms doesn’t use any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or GMO seeds, just like organic farms.
